Excel add-in · US options

Option prices in your own worksheet.

OptionConnect puts bid, ask, implied volatility and the Greeks for US-listed options into Excel. You pick the contract in a side panel, and the add-in writes the formulas for you.

In preparation for Microsoft Marketplace

Illustration with example values. These are not live prices.

What it does

A watchlist that fills itself in.

Built for people who already keep their trading notes and statistics in Excel and are tired of typing prices by hand.

Pick contracts by clicking

Type a ticker. The panel lists the available expiry dates and strikes and preselects the strike closest to the current price.

Prices that refresh

Choose a refresh interval of 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or refresh only when you click. One setting applies to every OptionConnect formula.

Implied volatility and Greeks

Delta, gamma, theta and vega are calculated for each contract, together with implied volatility.

Clear when the market is closed

The Status column shows whether the US market is open. When it is closed, you see the last available values and the column tells you which ones they are.

Add columns later

Tick another column in the panel and it is added to the whole list, with its header.

Your workbook stays with you

The add-in sends only the contract you ask about: ticker, expiry, strike and call or put. Nothing else from your file leaves your computer.

How it works

From ticker to row in three steps.

  1. Open the panel

Click the OptionConnect button on Excel's Home tab. The panel opens on the right side of your worksheet.

  2. Choose the contract

Enter the ticker, then pick expiry, strike, and call or put. Tick the columns you want, such as Bid, Ask, Delta and IV.

  3. Insert into the sheet

Select a cell and click Insert. OptionConnect writes one row with live formulas. Each further contract goes on the next row.

Columns

Fifteen values per contract.

Every value is an ordinary Excel formula, so you can use it in your own calculations, charts and conditional formatting.

If you prefer to type formulas yourself, there are three functions:

=OPTIONS.PRICE(ticker, expiry, strike, type, field)
=OPTIONS.EXPIRATIONS(ticker)
=OPTIONS.STRIKES(ticker, expiry)

Excel in some languages, for example German and Norwegian, separates the arguments with a semicolon instead of a comma. The panel writes the right form for your Excel automatically.
